Фестивалю 2014 року чекали зі сподіванням та надією – він залишався чи не єдиною розрадою зібратися разом у буремні історичні часи,

коли українською землею текла кров її синів і дочок, полеглих за свободу і волевиявлення, захищаючи цілісність і незалежність батьківщини. Ковалі, разом із численними народними волонтерами, стали тим незламним практичним тилом, який кував клямбри для бліндажів, виготовляв металеві пластини для бронежилетів, тисячами відправляв до передової ножі та буржуйки, працював над новими винаходами і знахідками для перемоги.

Своє ставлення до жахливих подій на теренах рідної землі, організатори розкрили через тему III Міжнародного фестивалю, пов’язаного з дитинством, казково-іграшковим щирим світом, що оточує дітлахів. Навіть коли в країні йде війна,продовжують народжуватися діти, даруючи надію на мирне небо. Несумісні речі – діти і війна – нагадують нам, дорослим, що все, в чому немає любові, швидкоплинне – амбіції та жадоба до збагачення, чвари та зрада, навіть смерть бліде перед відвертим дитячим поглядом.

Автором скульптури 2014 року став художник-коваль Артем Вольський. Композиція «Гойдалка» із двома симпатичними малюками-метеликами, які гойдаються на велетенському яблуку, відразу привернула увагу маленьких мешканців міста та гостей. За декілька годин на скульптурі вже оселилися коник, соска, сонечко, іграшкова шабелька, брязкальце та інші численні роботи ковалів.

Домашню роботу «Мій незвичний друг» поповнили ряди нових переможців – перше місце виборов Максим Марчук із Рівненської області за кованого механічного «Боксера», друге із успіхом розподілили між собою «Коник на ресорах» івано- франківчан Юрія Мельничука, Василя Куція та Ярослава Паньківа та твір «Равлик» від Романа Велігурського. Третє місце своєму авторові Максиму Клімову принесли «Корови». Приз глядацьких симпатій отримала робота у стилі стимпанк «Коник-гойдалка» Володимира Ржепецького із міста Первомайськ Миколаївської області. Але небо завжди бере кращих першими – цей фестиваль для Володимира та його сина, постійних учасників багатьох ковальських заходів в Рівному, був останній.

Ковалів України, незважаючи на складні часи, знов підтримали міжнародні друзі – Хууб Сенсен та Рамон Раншарт із Голландії демонстрували власні майстер-класи, японці Міцо Нішіда та Місукамі Шін-іші вдруге відвідали гостинне місто із власним ковальським шоу. Вперше на фестиваль приїхали гості із Франції.

Захід 2014 року зіграв величезну роль в гуртуванні ковальської спільноти задля вирішення негайних практичних питань допомоги українським бійцям-захисникам.

FOR THE PIECEFUL WIND OF SPRING

With hope and expectation, all of us were waiting for the festival of 2014. It was remaining whether the unique reassurance to assemble in such violent historical time, when Ukrainian land reddened with the blood of her sons and daughters, killed for the Freedom and Will, protecting the independence and the integrity of the native country. Blacksmithing with numerous volunteers became this indestructible practical home front, which were forging the cramps for trenches’ roofs, making metal plates for bulletproof vests, working on the new inventions and devices for victory.

Their attitude to the awful events on the territory of the native land, the organizers showed through the theme of the III International
  festival, related to the childhood and the fairy-tale sincere world of striplings. Even during the war, the children continue to be born and grow,  giving for us the hope for the peaceful sky. Children and war as two incompatible noumena remember for the adults that all things with no love in them, as ambitions and covetousness,  quarrels and treason are fugacious. Even the death pales in front of the sincere look of kids.

Art blacksmith Artem Volskyi became the author of the main sculpture of 2014. His composition “Swing” represents two nice kids-butterfl ies, which are swinging on the huge apple. The creation at one attracted the attention of small habitants of city as well as the guests. Numerous forged works of blacksmiths as toy horse, baby’s dummy, small sabre, toy mirror and many others fi lled the sculptures in several hours.

New winners’ creations complemented the homework according the theme “My unusual friend”. Maksym Marchuk from Rivne gained the first prize for forged mechanical “Boxer”. Creation “Horse on springs” from Ivano-Frankivsk team of Yuri Melnichuk, Vasyl Kutsyi and Yaroslav Pankiv and the artwork “Snail” from Roman Veligurskyi lucky divided the second prize. Work “Cows” gave to its master Maksym Klimov the third place. Prize of viewers likes obtained the steampunk style work “Horse-swing” of Volodimir Rzhepetskyi from Pervomaysk, Mykolaiv region. However, the sky always takes the best people the first, and this festival for Volodimir and his son, the constant participants of many blacksmithing events over Ukraine, was the last one.

In spite of difficult time, our international friends widely supported the Ukrainian blacksmiths. Huub Sensen and Ramon Ramshard from Holland demonstrated their master-classes, Japan masters Mitso Nishida and Misukami Shin-ishi visited the event already the second, with their own blacksmithing show. For the first time the guests from France arrived to Rivne festival.

The event of 2014 played a signifi cant role in the grouping the blacksmithing community to solve the immediate practical questions of help for Ukrainian soldiers-defenders.
